In Front of Dresser by Ron Vogel

Ron Vogel shot his b/w photos very quickly.  Click, click, click.  Each time, I was to move or change my expression.  By the time this series of photos was taken, we had worked together five times and so I was able to work quickly with him.  Unfortunately sometimes Ron clicked before he framed the shot.  This is a series that was shot using 35mm film — I have the negatives.

In all these photos, I am wearing the yellow see-through top that I wore on the cover of Figure Annual.

Some photos have been colorized by Old iZ New from high dpi images I provided to him.

Dresser #1

Here my left foot is hidden behind the corner of a bed.

Dresser #2

Again my left foot is hidden behind the corner of the bed.  It could have been a great shot otherwise.

Dresser #3

In Dresser #3, not only is part of my left foot is hidden behind the corner of a bed but also my breasts are hidden by the folds of the baby doll peignoir.

Dresser #4

Here my body is identical to #3. My head has moved and a bit more of my toes are visible.

Dresser #5

The pose in the photo below is identical to the one in the photo above (#4) except for the tilt of my head.

Dresser #6

In Dresser #6 one of my breasts is uncovered but the toes of my left foot are still hidden by the corner of a bed.

Dresser #7

The pose in the photo below is identical to the one above (#6) except for the tilt of my head.  My toes are still cut off by the corner of the bed.

Dresser #8

Finally, Vogel got it correct. He had me fold up tighter so that the foot was no longer hidden by the bed. Then he took five additional photos. Each time, I changed the tilt of my head and expression. Four of these five were quite good and two were published.

Bookcase Headboard by Michael LeRoy

Michael LeRoy was only four years older than I was when he photographed me on May 25, 1963.  He had just completed an apprenticeship with Keith Bernard and I was his first solo effort.  I always remembered it as a “fun” shoot — he kept me laughing the entire day.  LeRoy contacted me in 2012, and as a result I was able to obtain copies of all the b/w photos that he shot on that day.  He died a year later.

I will be posting sets of LeRoy’s b/w photos.   This is the “bedroom set”, shot on a bed with a bookcase headboard.  In most of these pictures, I was wearing a short transparent top that he supplied. In only two photos was the top discarded.  One of these was published in Monsieur magazine in 1964 and later in The Big Butt Book (2010), The Big Butt Diary (2012) and The Little Book of Butts (2013).  LeRoy also gave me a copy of this photo shortly after we finished the shoot.

Several photos have been colorized by Old iZ New from high dpi images I provided to him.

Shelf Bra/Bed by Ron Vogel

Ron Vogel took this set at the end of a long day.  I can tell by my hair, which is straight. Earlier in the day, he had shot the picture that ended up as the Modern Man centerfold, a large group of outdoor “chaise lounge” photos that appeared in many magazines, the Shadows set, and a centerfold that was published in Gala magazine.

Ron must have been tired by this time because he made many errors in this Shelf Bra group. For one thing, his lighting was bad, too bright on the left (my butt) and too dark on the right, often generating deep shadows on my face.  Also, it appears that the room was not large enough for him to get the scope needed to take a photo of me lying flat.  Photos taken in the middle of the bed were okay but he took several pictures that cut off part of my body.

Yet two pictures from this collection did end up in magazines.

Part of this group was shot with me nude on a bed.  Half-way through the session, he had me don a “shelf bra.”  This was his own accessory.

Most photos in this set are b/w images scanned from prints. Two were transparencies I received from Kevin, neither of which was published. One picture, #15, is a low-quality image obtained from an eBay listing.

One photo has been colorized by Old iZ New from a high dpi b/w image that I provided to him.

Vogel_Shelf Bra #1

This is one of the poorer photos in the set.  My face is hidden by shadows because of the tilt of my head.  Also my right arm hides my breasts — possibly a deliberate strategy by Vogel as he also sold non-nude photos to publications that wanted sexy poses but the breasts covered.

Vogel_Shelf Bra #2

This was a fairly good photo. When my head was lifted, as in this photo, the shadows didn’t hide my face. However, here again Vogal hid my breasts.

Vogel_Shelf Bra #3

The picture below was published.  It appeared in Flirt, an under-the-counter magazine that didn’t last long, one of many that published a few issues and then disappeared.

Vogel_Shelf Bra #4

Not only did dark shadows cover my face in this photo but Ron cut off the toes of my right leg.

Vogel_Shelf Bra #5

The color photo, obtained from Kevin, must have been taken immediately after the b/w shown above (#4).  Again, my face was covered with deep shadows and the toes of my right leg were cut off.

Vogel_Shelf Bra #6

The color transparency shown below (#6) was also obtained from Kevin.  This displays my curvaceous body well but Vogel had me do a “kissy” face for this one, not a natural expression for me.

Vogel_Shelf Bra #7

At this stage in the session, Vogel had me don the shelf bra.  But he had me lying across the bed and my legs are cut off.

Vogel_Shelf Bra #8

This photo is almost identical to #7 except that I have a different expression.

Vogel_Shelf Bra #9

This photo shows an error on my part.  I don’t have a good expression on my face. Possibly I was just starting a smile when Vogel clicked.

Vogel_Shelf Bra #10

In a couple of “shelf bra” photos, Vogel had me wear frilly panties that matched the color of the shelf bra.  Unfortunately, these panties were too small for me.  For that reason, they are pulled down in the picture below (#10) or semi-hidden in the color photo he shot (#15).

Vogel_Shelf Bra #11

This is one of the pictures that was published in a magazine.  It appeared in Delite, an under-the-counter magazine that didn’t last long, one of many titles that published a few issues and then disappeared. Unfortunately, the editors cut this photo off just above the knees in order to fit into a space below two other pictures, so the complete “me” was not published.

Vogel_Shelf Bra #12

Photos taken with me lying on my back got rid of the deep shadows on my face. In the one below, my crossed legs look quite attractive.  Unfortunately, from the expression on my face, it appears that Vogel snapped before I was ready.  Also, my breasts are hidden by my arms.

Vogel_Shelf Bra #13

Photos taken with me lying on my back got rid of the deep shadows on my face, but my smile looks forced in the one below (my fault).  Again, Vogel had me cover my breasts with my arms.

Vogel_Shelf Bra #14

Finally, after two flubs (#12 and #13), I got a good expression on my face in the picture shown below (#14).  However, my breasts were still hidden by my arms.

Vogel_Shelf Bra #15

This is a blurry copy of a photo that appeared in an eBay ad.  It does show the colors of the room, the shelf bra, and the frilly panties.
